Transforming a traditional 5-star hotel
to a dynamic 5-star city resort

The Hellenic Red Cross is the largest and oldest humanitarian organization in Greece, with a history spanning more than 145 years of service.
Supported by thousands of volunteers, hundreds of local branches, and an extensive network of social programs, the organization delivers vital services in healthcare, social welfare, education, and civil protection.
At a time when effective communication, transparency, and immediate access to information are essential to strengthening public trust, the Hellenic Red Cross needed a modern, dynamic, and highly functional website capable of reflecting the scale and impact of its humanitarian mission.
This marked the beginning of its collaboration with White Space.

The Hellenic Red Cross’s previous website featured an outdated design, limited functionality, and little visual impact. Information was fragmented and difficult to navigate, making it challenging for the public to understand the organization’s mission, initiatives, and humanitarian work.
The organization needed to modernize its digital presence to reconnect with its audience—particularly younger generations. Limited public awareness of its activities called for a complete transformation of the user experience. The complexity of the content, combined with the lack of compelling visual storytelling, made it difficult to engage visitors and communicate the organization’s impact effectively.
In addition, the website was not responsive, resulting in a poor experience on mobile devices. It also lacked integration with online payment systems, making it difficult for users to donate—a critical capability for any humanitarian organization.
The need for a complete digital transformation was clear: to create a platform that would do more than inform. It needed to connect, inspire, and motivate people to engage with the Hellenic Red Cross and support its mission.

White Space was entrusted with the complete redesign and development of the Hellenic Red Cross website, transforming a static, outdated platform into a dynamic, accessible, and engaging digital experience.
Our strategy was built around a human-centered design approach, placing the needs, expectations, and emotions of visitors at the core of every decision. From information architecture and user journeys to visual design and functionality, every element was carefully crafted to promote transparency, encourage engagement, and strengthen the connection between the public and the organization’s humanitarian mission.
The new website combines contemporary design, intuitive functionality, and compelling storytelling. Content was reorganized into clear, structured sections, allowing visitors to find what they need—from programs and humanitarian initiatives to volunteering opportunities and donations—in no more than two clicks.
To better communicate the scale and impact of the Hellenic Red Cross’s work, we designed a series of custom infographics and data visualizations that present key figures and achievements in a simple, engaging, and emotionally compelling way.
From a technical perspective, the platform delivers a modern, high-performance digital experience:
The result is a digital platform that goes far beyond serving as an informational website. It reflects the organization’s values, showcases the true scale of its humanitarian work, strengthens public trust, and inspires people to engage, volunteer, and contribute to its mission.
The new Hellenic Red Cross website fundamentally transformed the organization’s relationship with the public, establishing a new standard for its digital communication.
More than just a website, the new Hellenic Red Cross platform is a living digital hub for engagement—bringing people closer to the organization’s humanitarian mission and making participation more accessible than ever.
